Some of our favorite projects to tackle.
Historical buildings can be the most complex and difficult structures to roof. They are also the work we look forward to. We pair contemporary roofing standards with period-appropriate detailing so a hundred-year-old building gets another hundred.

Section 01 · Approach
Bringing the building back, the slow way.
We enjoy the challenge of bringing historical buildings back to life. We also enjoy installing modern roofing techniques and standards quietly inside the original envelope, so the building reads the way it did the day it was finished, and stays standing for another century.
Most of our restoration work falls into one of three buckets. The first is religious architecture, where slate, copper, and standing-seam metal meet stained-glass and bell-tower details. The second is civic architecture, where the building serves a city and the work happens without disrupting it. The third is private landmarks, family-owned buildings whose owners want them around for the grandkids.
In every bucket the rule is the same. The new roof has to read like the original, hold up like the rest of our work, and survive a state preservation review where one applies. Drawings are reviewed. Materials are sourced. Crews are assigned to the job from start to finish so the same hands are on the building every day.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School · Onalaska, WI
A working church does not stop for its roof. We schedule the work around services, weather, and the building’s actual life.
Slate, copper, zinc, and standing-seam metal each have a specific vocabulary. The crew on a heritage roof has to speak all four.

If a building of yours is on the National Register, on a historic register at the state level, or sitting in front of a town square, we want to talk. Most of our favorite buildings to roof started that way.

Heritage roofs do not get rebuilt. They get cared for.
We come to the building. We document what is original. We propose what should be replaced and what should be repaired. The work proceeds at the building's pace, not ours. For an estimate, call 608.783.2106, option 2.
