Charlie Kasten ran Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing for fifty years. His son Derek and his son-in-law Jon run it now, with the same crews, the same shop on Commerce Road, and the same answer when a hospital calls at 2:00 a.m.

Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. is a commercial roofing contractor. Quality new roof and roof replacement is what we do. We pride ourselves on the workmanship of our roofing specialists.
We are dependable contractors offering historical restoration, specialty residential, commercial, metal, green, and industrial roofing. We provide commercial roofing services in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. And wherever else the job takes us.
Section 02 · Three Generations
I.
1968 to 2018
Fifty years on the roof. Charlie founded Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing in 1968 and ran it until 2018. The shop on Commerce Road is the same shop he built.
II.
Today
Brothers-in-law. President and Vice President. Following Charlie’s fifty-year career, Derek now leads the business alongside Jon Kloehn.
III.
Tomorrow
Seventy-five people work here. Some have been with the shop since the 1990s. The next generation of estimators is already on the floor, and the next generation of foremen on the trucks.
Section 03 · Service Areas
We work across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Crews leave from Onalaska, on the Mississippi, and reach most of the territory inside a three-hour window.

Section 04 · The Crew
The office in Onalaska. The rest of the shop, including the fifty plus roofers, mechanics, and yard staff who do the hard part of the work, are at your project most days of the year.
President
Derek joined the family roofing business at a young age, starting with warehouse work and progressing to roofing crews. After earning a Computer Office Specialist degree from WTC, he streamlined the company's bidding process as an estimator. He and his wife have five children. Following his father Charlie's 50-year career, Derek now leads the business alongside his brother-in-law, Jon Kloehn.
Vice President

Estimator
Michael is a full-time Estimator. His primary role consists of client relations, estimating, project management and drafting. He has a civil engineering degree, along with extensive knowledge and experience utilizing software related to his profession. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and tackling home improvement projects.
Estimator
Dalton is a full-time Estimator with expertise in client and supplier relations, estimating, project management, and financial reporting. He holds a degree in Business Management and Finance from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, and pursues interests in sports, fitness, and home renovation projects.
Service Department
Clay handles the service crews, dispatching the crews to manage clients that are in need of repairs. In his off time, Clay is spending time with his family and friends.
Human Resources
Keri has been with Interstate Roofing since 2016. She takes care of payroll, benefits administration and hiring. She has a degree in Supervisory Management. In her off time she enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs. Camping, fishing, and cooking are family pursuits.
A/R and Job Cost
With the exception of two years, Chris has been with Interstate Roofing since 1990. She handles accounts receivable, inventory posting and job cost. Chris has an Associate Degree in Accounting along with a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her dog, planting flowers, and boating.
Accounts Payable / Admin
AJ joined the team in 2019 as the Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. She has over 26 years of administrative and accounting background and earned her Associates Degree in Office Computer Specialist. In her spare time, she looks forward to crafting and baking treats for the office staff and crews.
A note from the office
The shop on Commerce Road is the same shop our father built. The trucks are newer. The work is the same.
